Materials Needed:
Liquidy Split Fast Drying Epoxy Resin
Turquoise Blue Resin Dye
Deep Sea Blue Resin Dye
White Waves Resin Dye
Mixing cups stir sticks
Flat surface like a coaster, canvas or wood board.
Heat gun
Protective gear and gloves
Step 1: Prepare Your Workspace
Ensure your workspace is clean, levelled, and well-covered. Protect the area with plastic sheeting or silicone mats to prevent any spills from damaging surfaces. Wear protective gear including gloves throughout this process.
Step 2: Measure and Mix Epoxy Resin
Use our Coverage Calculator to determine how much epoxy resin you need for your project surface. Follow Liquidy Split's instructions while mixing the resin and hardener in a clean cup at a 1:1 ratio by volume, stirring slowly and thoroughly until clear.
Step 3: Create Ocean Colors with Resin Dyes
Use Turquoise Blue Resin Dye
Add Deep Sea Blue Resin Dye
Incorporate White Waves Resin Dye
Divide your mixed epoxy resin into three different cups. Drop a few drops of each dye into their respective contners and mix well to achieve the desired shades of blue for your ocean art.
Step 4: Pour the Epoxy
Start by pouring the Turquoise Blue and Deep Sea Blue resins onto your surface, creating an organic wave pattern. Use a heat gun on low heat to pop r bubbles. You can also use a tool or gloved hand to bl colors together for a seamless look.
Step 5: Create the Epoxy Ocean Waves
Gently pour White Waves into one edge of the blue resin mixtures, forming thin lines. Use your heat gun on low setting to create movement in the waves by blowing the white pigment into the blues - watch as lacing and cells form naturally.
Step 6: Add Finishing Touches
Turn off the heat gun to prevent damage to the emerging laces, ensuring they bl well with the surrounding colors. You may add more White Waves Dye for additional layers or let the first waves dry before adding more to create a 3D effect.
Step 7: Allow the Epoxy Art to Cure
Let your ocean wave epoxy art cure according to Liquidy Split's instructions, then admire your masterpiece!
Explore different color combinations, adding mica powders, or experiment on various surfaces. Making ocean waves in resin has never been easier with Liquidy Split and our vibrant dyes.
